- The List Converter Control Keys
- -------------------------------
-
- The following control keys are available while using List Converter:
-
- =============================================================================
- Control Key Description
- -----------------------------------------------------------------------------
- <Alt><L> This key combination will load a sample file list and
- display the file list's first line in List Converter's
- file list display line.
-
- <Down Arrow> Displays the next line in the sample file list.
-
- <Up Arrow> Displays the previous line in the sample file list.
-
- <Left Arrow> Moves the template line's cursor to the next character
- position.
-
- <Right Arrow> Moves the template line's cursor to the previous
- character position.
-
- <Pg Dn> Displays the next template.
-
- <Pg Up> Displays the previous template.
-
- <Alt><S> This key combination saves the revised templates. List
- Converter will prompt you to name the "User Defined"
- template. If you do not want to save the "User Defined"
- template, just leave the name blank and List. Converter
- won't bother to save it.
-
- <F> Sets the starting position for the file's name in the
- file list template.
-
- <L> Sets the starting and ending positions for the file's
- length in the file list template. Because the file length
- can be a variable length field, pressing <L> the first
- time will only mark the starting position for the file
- length. Once you have marked the file length's starting
- position, move the template line's cursor to the right
- and press <L> again to define the file length's ending
- position.
-
- <D> Sets the starting position for the file's date in the
- file list template. You should note that List
- Converter can work with dates using either the MM-DD-YY
- or YYMMDD formats. MM-DD-YY is the default format. You
- can toggle this to the YYMMDD format, by leaving the
- template line's cursor in the date's first position and
- pressing <D> again.
-
- <X> Sets the starting position for the file's description.
- List Converter assumes that the description's ending
- position is the end of the line.
-
- <Alt><X> This key combination starts the conversion process.
- List Converter will ask you to enter the file name for
- the file list(s) to be converted. You can use DOS wild
- card characters to specify multiple files in a single
- directory. List Converter will then ask you to enter
- the name of the directory that you want the converted
- file list(s) to be placed in. Please note that List
- Converter will use the original file list's name for
- the converted file list; therefore, you should not
- specify the same directory where the original file
- list(s) are located.
